My music passion

Ever since I was like in the second grade, there was always tis one song called dirty deeds by AC/DC that I would always listen to. I wasn’t into music that much back then, but I started to like it more after my dad and mom introduced bands to me. My mom introduced me to bands lik U2, Rush, Metallica, The Police, Led Zepplin, Tom Petty, The Cars, The Clash, Ozzy Osbourne, and much more. My dad introduced me to bands like Rob Zombie, AC/DC, Guns n’ Roses, Orson, Rage Against the Machine, Infected Mushroom, Queen, and Van Halen. As you can see, my parents like heavy metal, rock, rock/blues, and so much more. After getting my ipod for the first time in my 12th Christmas, my parents would always say, “get this song” or, ” I can’t believe that you don’t know this song, you should try it out.” When I was 12, that’s when I really started to like music. My friend, Sebi, showed me artists like Green Day and My Chemical Romance, and I thought that they were pretty good. I have these phases at times. Have you ever listened to  a band, and started to listen to most of their songs for a long period of time, and then went on to the next artist? No? Well, I have, and it is pretty weird but fun. I’ve noticed another thing about music. Out of all the people I ask, the average person always says the same thing. What I ask is, “what is your favorite song?” and people always answer, “I don’t know, there are so many good ones.” I can understand that, but I can say mine right away. Personally, my favorite song is Miracle Drug by U2. U2 is my favorite band of all time. I never really got into them until I saw the video below, It practacally changed the way I think. Well, I’ll be checking out, see you (or not) on my next post. Bye.

Queen

This is the first time that I write about a band that is not around anymore. All of the other bands that I have written about are legends, but this band is considered an old legend. They were an english band formed in London at the year of 1970. Ever since 1975, their albums have been hitting number one in charts all around the world. Their first single “Killer Queen” hit number two in british charts, and Queen’s first U.S. hit. It all went downhill from there. It is too bad that Queen had to break up because of a man named Freddie Mercury died. His final recording was a song called “Bohemian Rhaspody”. The legendary singr died of AIDs, even though he denied having them. As a memory to them was made in movies such as “Happy Feet”, “Cheaper by the Dozen 2″, “Chicken Little”, “Wayne’s World”, and a lot more movies that would take too long to list. They even made an album called “Queen III”. Queen was once here, but they are here no more. We hope that Nothing will stop us now as stated in this song. Rest in Peace Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor. Many will miss you.Don't Stop Me NowInformation from wikipedia

Metallica

Founded when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an ad in the paper in Los Angeles. Their origional music consisted of fast tempos, instrumentals and musicianship. They were placed in the top four of the “Thrash Metal” genre along with Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth. The band started to be recognized in 1991 with the album “Metallica”, which for me personally is their best album. All in all, they released eight studio albums and two live albums. With over 100 million albums sold worldwide (wow) they have won seven Grammy Awards. Their album “Metallica” has sold over 20 million copies which makes it the 25th highest selling albums in the United States. I am not suprised that they are the most sucessful “Thrash Metal” band alive today. Right now they are working on a ninth album, and we all will be looking foward to that. Stephen Thomas Erlweine and Greg Patro of the All Music Guide said,”They are easily the best, most influencial heavy metal band of the eighties, and they are responsible for bringing music back to earth.” They have inspired people like Avril Lavigne, Korn, Snoop Dogg, and Limp Bizkit, and Metallica’s music will be remembered for all time.

AC/DC

AC/DC was a band that we would hear their name frequently in the past. They were legends, even when Bon Scott died. With the head banging members of Brian Johnson, the singer, Angus Young, the lead guitarist, Cliff Williams, the bassist, Malcolm Young, Rythym guitarist, and Phil Rudd as of course the drums. You might know them from some songs like “Back in Black” or “TNT”. Formed in Australia by two brothers, They are definetly a band that has made it, especially after the “Back in Black” album. That album has sold over 42 million worldwide. Pretty good, huh? After the death of Bon Scott, many candidates have auditioned but Brian Johnson won, because Angus said that he was one of Bon’s favorite singers. After that, they just couldn’t stop touring. True to their name, they are raw power. In 2003, AC/DC was put into the rock and roll hall of fame. The band performed “Highway to hell” and “You shook me all night long” during the ceremony. Yes, AC/DC is a legend, and though they are old men now, their names will live forever. Here is an example of the power that is AC/DC. Here’s One called “Thunderstruck”, you ready? Long live AC/DC.
